To achieve the equilibrium five conditions must be met:
  • Population must be very large.
  • Population must be isolated from other populations (no immigration or emigration).
  • No mutations.
  • Random mating.
  • No natural selection (i.e. every individual has an equal chance of survival)



3. Answer

Explain how the evolution of human skin color illustrates the principles of microevolution.  Include in your discussion how each of the points of the Hardy Weinberg equilibrium model are represented in the evolution of skin color. Site specific examples for each on the points.
